For its latest installment of the Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera Challenge, DigitalRev TV invited photojournalist Gary Tyson of F8 Photography to shoot street photos of Hong Kong… using the 0.3MP camera on a VTech “smart watch” designed for kids.
Tyson worked for years as a photographer for the British Army — a job that took him to war zones all around the world — so he’s a guy who knows how to make do with whatever circumstance is thrown his way.
Despite the limitations imposed by the lo-fi wrist camera, Tyson was able to capture some interesting and artistic moments on busy Hong Kong streets and alleyways. Here’s a selection of what he created during the challenge:
