India and Jay eloped to Horseshoe Bend (the national military park in Arizona) to tie the knot, and Jordan Voth was there to capture it all, including the next-day explorations around nearby Antelope Canyon. Looking at this photo, you’d never guess that they were accompanied by about a couple dozen tourists.

“If you’ve been to Antelope Canyon before, you know there are a lot of people present,” Voth says. “It’s an incredible thing to see, so I’m not surprised that anyone passing through the area would book a tour.” That, of course, presented a bit of a challenge: On a tour with 20 or so other people, Voth, India and Jay had to conduct their shoot without getting anyone else in the frame.

“This shot in particular was shot as we were the last ones to enter the slot canyon,” Voth explains. “I made India and Jay lag behind so I could have a couple extra minutes of portrait time to grab this shot and a few others. It’s one of my favorites from the day.”

(Shot on a Canon 5D Mark III and 11-24mm f/4L lens.)

This image won first place in last year’s Rf Annual competition. The deadline for this year is September 1—check out how you can submit your wedding, portrait, fashion, composite, fine-art and filmmaking work now.
