When you’re shooting out of town (or out of country), you’ll be forever grateful to have done your homework on how the light works in that specific location. Lukas and Eliska of Couple of Prague, a wedding duo based in the Czech Republic (who were also nominated this year to Rf‘s 30 Rising Stars competition), know this well.
“This photo was shot during an editorial shoot in Austria,” Lukas explains. “We were shooting at a different location the day before and I had this idea to wake for a sunrise at the lake next to our hotel. To my surprise, our models (a real engaged couple) were excited about this too, so we all woke up at 5 a.m., took a couple of photos in a blanket and then just watched the magic. What a morning!”
(Shot with a Canon 5D Mark III and a 35mm f/1.4L lens at f/3.5, “because I wanted to have that mountain sharp,” Lukas says, “but not too sharp.”)
