Rangefinder online: WPPI News: Lume Cube Decks Out Its Tiny LEDs with Tiny Modifiers

The Lume Cube is a tiny LED that can serve as either a continuous light or a flash. While it’s been used in tight spots, on drones and underwater it really hasn’t had a proper modifier.

Until now.

The company is rolling out the Light House–a custom aluminum housing that works with magnetic diffusion filters to soften your Lume Cube’s output.

The Light House fits snug over of the Lume Cube. You can stack the magnetic diffusers, one over the other. The Light House’s front lip keeps the filters from being bumped off the housing when in use.

Lume Cube partnered with Lee Filters to build the diffusers. According to the company, they’ll last 200 times longer than standard lighting filters and are more than double the thickness of a normal lighting filter.

The three diffusion filters in the Light House kit include the 810, which is equivalent to a 216 white diffusion filter. The 811 filter will deliver the equivalent of a 416 white diffusion while the 812 delivers the equivalent of a 250 white diffusion.

The kit will set you back $50 and is shipping next month.
