For their Indian wedding, this couple flew photographer Scott Surplice from Sydney down to Adelaide, Australia, to capture their nuptials in a remote town called Renmark, situated another three and a half hour drive from the airport.
Though he hadn’t met the couple prior to their big day, “They trusted me completely,” the photographer says. “It was such an honor and privilege to be part of their wedding.”
After scouting the region, Surplice found this remote location along the banks of the Murray River. With the sun beating down, he positioned himself between the couple and the sun “to get that even lighting on their faces and that beautiful backlit warmth,” he says. “There was even a bit of bonus lens flare that you can see in her hair. I like those imperfections, so I decided not to crop it out.”
(Captured using a Nikon D810 with a Sigma 35mm lens at 1/4000 of a second, f/1.4 and ISO 100.)
