Canon Discontinues 3 Lenses; None Are a Surprise

Canon Discontinues 3 Lenses; None Are a Surprise
Canon Japan has officially discontinued the following lenses:

The list of discontinued lenses is unsurprising as the first two have recently been replaced (Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM / Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM) and the third has been heavily marked down for several months (though, curiously enough, is not currently discounted). All of the recently discontinued lenses are still availble at B&H.

Is the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM scheduled to be replaced or is it simply being phased out? Let us know what you think in the comments.
