Japan's BCN Awards measure annual unit sales based on point of sale data collected at major partnering retailers. Based on the data collected the previous year, Canon ranked #1 in compact digital cameras, #1 in DSLRs (by a wide margin) and #2 in MILCs (behind Olympus).
