Ain’t Bad Magazine Calls For Entries From Self-Identifying Female Photographers

Founded in Savannah, Georgia, in 2011, Ain’t Bad is a photographic journal that showcases the work of emerging talent.

For its 13th issue, it is calling for images from self-identifying female photographers. The issue aims to present narratives that highlight the female experience in a rapidly changing world.

In a letter, the founders of the magazine — Carson Sanders and Taylor Curry — explain their choice to focus on female photographers.

We are incredibly excited to be working on this issue at a time when our culture is witnessing a comprehensive re-evaluation of power dynamics, and a direct confrontation with a long chapter of patriarchal dominance in cultural production, government, cinema, business, education and beyond.

All entries are due on March 18. Photographers are asked to pay $20 for 10 images, and $25 for 20 images culled from their strongest body of work. Chosen photographers will be notified by April 1.
