EOS Inspector 2, a Mac App, Allows You to See Your Camera's Shutter Count

EOS Inspector 2 by Konstantin Pavlikhin
Independent developer Konstantin Pavlikhin has released EOS Inspector 2, a follow-up to the very popular EOS Inspector app (which itself is a follow-up to the ShutterCount app from the same developer). EOS Inspector 2 allows Mac users to find out many details about their Canon cameras, such as:

  • Shutter count (including /excluding Live View shots with newer camera models)
  • Serial number
  • Battery charge level & possible shots
  • Firmware version
The app also displays an expected shutter life for your camera and you can conveniently change various metadata fields such as Owner's Name, Author and Copyright within the user interface.

From the developer:
The new EOS Inspector 2 was released in June and it is still being offered for a special price of $2.99. The new version is a free upgrade for all existing customers. The EOS Inspector app has no in-app purchases (I don’t charge per shutter actuations reading). The app is available for the flat price: you buy the app once and then free to use it with any EOS camera as many times as you want. Live View usage details are also available with no strings attached.

EOS Inspector 2 is on sale now for $2.99 (regularly $4.99) and can be downloaded via the Apple App Store.
